Freeport offers a number of initiatives to support its retailers and enable the local community to access great jobs within the centre.

It is home to retailers from big brands such as Marks and Spencer and Next to smaller family run businesses such as Heavensent Gifts offering a variety of roles from part time Saturday jobs to store and area managers.

The centre has hosted work experience candidates within the centre management team, most recently from Millfield Science and Performing Arts College and Centre Manager John Magee has recently supported future retail stars with mock job interviews at Blessed Trinity Roman Catholic College, Burnley.

Yvonne Calligan, deputy store manager for Next Outlet, who retires in December after 21 years working at the centre, said: “I’ve loved working in retail at Freeport Fleetwood – in fact I’ve been working here since 1995 when the centre first opened! Working in retail has given me many skills and experiences that I will never forget.”
