Fylde coast businesses' chance to celebrate success

Businesses in Wyre have the chance to  celebrate their successes this year with some well deserved time in the limelight.

Nominations are open in the Wyre Business Awards 2017 which will be held at the Marine Hall, Fleetwood, on Thursday, November 30.

This year’s event will allow businesses and individuals compete in fifteen categories that recognise all types and sizes of businesses.

The closing date for nominations is October 27.

There are new awards this year to recognise rural businesses and market traders, alongside the regulars for various sized businesses, new businesses, tourism sector and employer of the year.

Businesses can nominate themselves in up to three categories.

The event will be a glamorous black tie dinner with tickets available from Marine Hall priced at £35 or £300 for a table of 10.

There are sponsorship package opportunities available from £75 to £800 offering inclusion in publicity to the business community before, during and after the event.

Garry Payne, chief executive of Wyre Council said: “The Wyre Business Awards have grown year on year and we are looking forward to a great event in 2017. The Awards are an important part of the Wyre business calendar and put the spotlight on business success.

“The Awards categories cover all types and sizes of business to celebrate Wyre’s healthy business economy.

“All Wyre businesses are encouraged to join in by entering nominations and coming along and enjoying the event.”

The categories are: Green Business of the Year, New Business of the Year (under two years old), Community Involvement Award, Eating/Drinking Establishment of the Year, Tourism Accommodation of the Year, Tourism Attraction of the Year, Event of the Year, Made in Wyre (Locally grown-locally made-locally produced), Employer of the Year, Home based or Online Business of the Year, Micro Business of the Year (0-9 employees), Retailer of the Year, Rural Business of the Year (agricultural and associated business), SME of the Year (10+ employees) and Market Trader of the Year.
