Activities ranging from donkey rides to face painting drew crowds to Devonshire Road Rock Gardens.
A community fun day raised more than £500 to be ploughed back into facilities at the Blackpool beauty spot which has been targeted by vandals in recent times.
Ward councillor Coun Christine Wright said: “We were so pleased that the Rock Gardens really buzzed with the sound of families having a great day out and that everybody’s hard work paid off.”
John Topping, deputy principal of Aspire Academy where the Friends of the Rock Gardens holds its meeting, said: “I’m very pleased we raised such a significant amount of money. Special thanks should go to the volunteers including Ann Park, secretary of the Friends group, who did such a lot of work to get such a wide range of raffle prizes and tombola gifts.”
Thousands of pounds has been invested in revamping The Vista building at the gardens.
Last Saturday’s events also included an outdoor skittles, golf coaching, a bouncy castle, rock climbing and refreshments.
