ICAN, the Independent Creative Artists Network, is presenting the event in the Derham Lounge from noon to 4pm, and encouraging people of all ages to come along and enjoy the entertainment and displays.

The programme includes dance and performance schools, singers, musicians, poets, jugglers, magicians and even belly dancers.

Meanwhile the exhibitors cover the skills of photography, painting and fine art, jewellery-making, screen-printing, needlework, tattoo art and much more.

There will also be information about ICAN, a non-profit making group set up in November last year and run by the artists themselves.

ICAN has more than 200 members and has already supported a number of events and workshops.

A spokesman for ICAN said: “We are not a funding body but with the wide range of experience and skills among our membership we can support both established artists and those just starting out.

“One of our aims is to inspire others to pick up a paint brush, camera, write some poetry, or learn to play an instrument or dance, anything that they might have been thinking about but never got around to trying.

Blackpool has a vibrant arts scene and great entertainment tradition, we want to help spread that word to residents and beyond.”
