Friday's fine...but a storm brews for Saturday
The warm weather, which was set to continue today, put the town on a par with resorts in southern Spain.
It gave residents and visitors chance to head to the beaches and parks as they started to unwind for the bank holiday weekend.

Forecasters said while temperatures would cool down slightly, people can look forward to pleasant conditions over the next couple of days.
Met Office meteorologist Emma Sharples said: “Blackpool will see temperatures as high as 26 degrees again on Friday, but things will start to change a bit on Saturday.
“After a muggy night, it should be warm and dry first thing but there is a chance of some shower bursts around mid morning, some potentially heavy downpours and even a rumble of thunder.

Hide Ad“It will improve later in the day and feel fresher and there will be a dry evening and night.
“On Sunday the temperatures will be in the low to mid 20s with some bright spells, and Monday should be a bright day with sunny spells and temperatures around 20 degrees.”
