Fracking firm Cuadrilla moves its headquarters to Lancashire

In a clear sign of its ongoing commitment to the county, the firm has opened up new offices in Bamber Bridge.

Cuadrilla has applied to drill for shale gas at two sites in Lancashire – Little Plumpton and Roseacre Wood. The application was turned down by Lancashire County Council, but Caudrilla appealed and after a lengthy hearing the decision is now in the hands of the planning inspector.

Special guest at the formal opening of the new offices was ex England Rugby captain, Bill Beaumont, who cut the ribbon on a shale rock plaque.

Mr Beaumont told the guests, who included local business representatives, academia, farmers, students and shale gas exploration supporters: “I’ve been following Cuadrilla’s business with interest for a few years now.

“I’ve been particularly pleased to see them getting involved with the local community, not just as a sponsor of my own home club at Fylde RFC, but the time they give for the Young Engineers Competition for schools across the area.

“I hope that Cuadrilla will soon be able to get on with their important work and provide further opportunities for the local businesses and skilled jobs for people in Lancashire.”
