Former Seasiders star Alex Baptiste has been signed to Blackburn Rovers.

The 28-year-old defender, who was part of Ian Holloway’s squad when Blackpool FC played in the Premiership in 2010/11, has signed a season-long loan from current club Bolton Wanderers.

Baptiste, who made 190 appearances for Blackpool and still lives on the Fylde coast, was the third player to sign for Rovers today, while his former team in the resort is still left with only eight players for next season.

He met Rovers last August, scoring the Wanderers only goal of the game as they were beaten 4-1 by the home side at Ewood Park.
