Fleetwood man taken to hospital after air ambulance attends home emergency

A man has been taken to hospital after the air ambulance was called out to an emergency in Fleetwood today (Thursday, January 7).

The air ambulance touched down on The Mount at 10.30am where the crew of medics were met by a waiting ambulance on the Esplanade.

North West Air Ambulance Service said the team had responded to an incident involving a man at a terraced home in nearby Poulton Street, off Poulton Road.

The team of medics rushed to the man's home to administer emergency treatment before he was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital.

A spokesman for the air ambulance service said: "We can confirm that we were called out to an incident involving a male in Fleetwood at 10.10 am.

"The incident occurred on private property, and as such, we have no further details at this time."

An ambulance spokesman added: "We were called to the scene at 10.03am. We’ve mobilised two ambulances and an air ambulance to the scene at a private address on Poulton Street.

"One patient has been taken to hospital."
