Ageing flats will be transformed under plans to build more than 30 homes on land in North Shore.
Four blocks of flats in land off All Hallows Road and All Saints Road, in Bispham, will be demolished to make way for 31 homes, including five bungalows, 14 semi-detached homes and 12 terraced properties after planners unanimously backed the proposals.
Planning committee chairman Coun David Owen said: “It is a significant site.
“Our officers have been quite keen to have a development which fits in more gracefully than the present buildings, erected some years ago.”
The flats, which date back to the 1950s, have already been vacated, with demolition work expected to start in the coming months.
