Five to face court after police drugs bust

Five more people have been charged as part of an investigation into organised crime on the Fylde coast.

They were arrested on Wednesday after a series of raids as part of Operation Jennet. A number of others arrested as part of the same operation have already been charged.

Daniel Thornber, 37, of Dingle Avenue, Layton, and Reece Fletcher, 23, of Lyncroft Crescent, Layton, are accused of conspiracy to supply Class A cocaine

Elaine Jackson, 56, and Ricky Jackson, 51, both of Mardale Avenue, Mereside and Matthew Evans, 33, of Peter Street, Blackpool, are accused of money laundering.

They are due to appear in court on April 12. A man, aged 32 and a woman, aged 28, both from Blackpool were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and money laundering. They have been released under investigation.

Det Chf InspBecky Smith, of Lancashire Police, said: “We are committed to tackling organised crime groups working in the county.”
