Fisherman’s car marooned in tide blunder

Lytham and Fleetwood Coastguards were called at 2.30pm today.

Teams were alerted to a 4x4 vehicle that had been swallowed up by the tide.

A coastguard spokesman said: “Crews from Lytham and Fleetwood were called out just after 2pm by a fisherman who had spent a little too much time at sea.

“Nobody was injured, it’s possible he might need to wait for the tide to go back out before he can try retrieve it.”
