A FIREMAN had been drinking when he got behind the wheel of a van and drove into a takeaway drive-through lane the wrong way.

Jonnie Walker collided with a sign and police were called.

The 45-year-old was arrested after an on-the-spot breath test taken by officers proved positive when the results came through.

However when he was taken to the police station for a second test Walker of Ingleway, Cleveleys, started to argue and become abusive to the police.

Walker admitted failing to provide a specimen when he appeared at Blackpool Magistrates Court.

Sentence was adjourned pending the preparation of pre-sentence reports.
