One fire appliance was called out to the fire in an alleyway at Belmont Avenue, off Central Drive, at 7.52pm.

Watch manager Warren Tapp said: “One hose reel was used to put it out.”

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service warn that such incidents could divert resources away from genuine emergencies.
