Fire at South Shore ice cream parlour

A fire started in a newly renovated cold storage building at a South Shore ice cream parlour, say fire services.

Crews sent four firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus and a hose reel to fight the fire.

A spokesman for the fire service said: "Three fire engines from Blackpool, St Annes and South Shore attended a fire involving a commercial property.

"We were called out as people could smell smoke.

"The fire started in an outbuilding at the rear of the property.

"We believe the fire started accidentally."

Firefighters remained at the scene for around half an hour.

Nobody was injured during the incident.
