The festive event, organised by St Annes-based Cuffe and Taylor, featured performances from local talent to kick off the celebrations, before Lytham in Bloom chairman, Jim Leak, flicked the switch to turn on the town’s lights.

He said: “It’s a great honour to have been asked to switch on this year’s Lytham Christmas Lights.

A host of stars, including Fylde’s Got Talent winner Hana Joy, The Lytham Community Choir, Lowther Pavilion Panto and popular boyband Reconnected were all part of the line-up.

Helen Vavaso, owner of Java Cafe and co-organiser, added: “We’ve had a really good day.

“The atmosphere has been superb and the crowds seem to have really enjoyed the celebrations.

“Anything to help put Lytham on the map and boost people coming here is good for me.”
