The venue, on Park Street, Lytham, was packed with guests to raise funds for Action For Children.

Meanwhile, Freckleton WI members held a Christmas party at their last meeting.

Mary Doughty, Freckleton WI press officer, said: “The village hall looked festive with the tables beautifully set with Christmas crackers and lovely seasonal plants.

“Our President, Kathy Gemmell, welcomed everyone to the meeting.

“We then enjoyed a delicious hot meal and once again Michaela Bass had made a lovely Christmas cake which was cut by Joyce Elstone who has been a member of Freckleton WI since 1963.”

The Competition Cup, which is awarded annually to the member who has accrued the most points in the group’s monthly competition, was won by Christine Wilson.

Mrs Doughty added: “Carole Ainley had provided a Christmas-themed table quiz and afterwards we all enjoyed a variety of silly games.”

Freckleton WI meet in the Village Hall on the second Tuesday of each month at 7.30pm. The next meeting is on January 9.
