TICKETS are continuing to fly out the door for this year’s Lytham Proms, with organisers saying sales have so far “exceeded expectations”.
Around 7,000 of 10,000 available tickets have been snapped up for August’s two-day extravaganza, which will see rock legends Status Quo take to the stage on the Friday night followed by a Saturday performance from opera sensation Katherine Jenkins.
It’s the first time the star-studded event has taken place over two nights, with revellers set to descend on Lytham Green on Friday, August 5 and Saturday, August 6.
A spokesman for local organisers Cuffe and Taylor event management said: “Ticket sales have exceeded expectations. It’s on a much bigger scale than last year and it’s absolutely excellent.”
And VIP tickets for the concerts have also been in demand. All the VIP boxes to watch Katherine Jenkins have now been snapped up, following on from the announcement Status Quo was a VIP sell-out back in January.
It’s not yet been announced who will support the big names at the concerts, but Cuffe and Taylor are currently running “Fylde’s Got the Rock Factor” in a bid to find a local band to support veteran rockers Status Quo.
If you think your band has what it takes - and are from the FY or PR postcode areas - log onto www.lythamproms.co.uk/rockfactor for details on how to enter.
Tickets for the event are available from See tickets and Lowther Pavilion box office priced at £63 for both nights, £32.50 for Status Quo and £35 for Katherine Jenkins until May 1.
