Family's goodbye to hard-working chef Robin

Family and friends have paid tribute to a loving father who died suddenly at his Lytham home.

Robin Summers, 53, died on May 14 after suffering heart failure following a short illness.

The dad-of-one enjoyed a life-long career as a chef and worked at San Marcos on Lytham Road.

His wife Wendy, 47, said: “He just had a flu - that’s what we thought. It was very sudden

“He was a chef all his life.

“It’s quite a stressful job and he was a bit of a ‘Delboy’. If he could get an extra 20 quid he would. He worked v ery hard.”

Lucia Frankitt, owner of the San Marco restaurant, said news of Mr Summers’ death had come as a ‘terrible shock’.

She said: “He was very jovil. He had a good sense of humour.

“He was a very helpful man and very caring. He had the utmost respect. Nothing was too much trouble for him and the staff loved him at the restaurant.”

Mr Summers is survived by his wife and 25-year-old son Danny.

His funeral will take place today at Lytham Crematorium at 1.30pm.
