Plans to extend a betting shop in Layton have been approved.
The proposed scheme will see a property on Westcliffe Drive converted by the Done brothers, who operate as betting firm Betfred.
The aim of the proposal is to extend their existing outlet into the neighbouring unit.
Planning approval was granted for alterations to the shop front by council officers using their delegated powers.
A design brief accompanying the application says the property became vacant for four years and since then has only been leased on a short term basis.
It adds: “The proposed betting shop would contribute to the local economy as well as providing easy access to local services in a sustainable location.”
