Lancashire Wildlife Trust's ecotherapy project, Myplace, had its Wyre hub funded in November 2019 by the National Lottery Reaching Communities Fund.

The project was set up to "empower people and their communities to connect with local environments in order to learn new skills, build resilience, meet new people and improve their physical health and mental wellbeing."

Throughout the coronavirus pandemic, the Myplace team has continued to hold virtual sessions to tackle loneliness and give participants the opportunity to come together online.

With its hubs in Wyre and Bolton, the Wildlife Trust has helped 86 people come together in 2020 to learn more about nature and their communities.

Volunteers and participants in Wyre have spent time in woodland and outdoors in nature, at venues including Cottam Hall fields in Poulton, and the Towers Woods in Cleveleys.

A spokesman for Lancasire Wildlife Trust said: "With the funding from The National Lottery Reaching Communities fund, our aim for the next year is to continue to bring people together through nature. Our weekly green wellbeing sessions, peer mentoring and volunteering within Myplace, alongside finding opportunities for participants to progress within their local communities, will enable our participants to feel less lonely long term.
