Delays after protester spends night on top of tanker

Police have put a contraflow in place on the road at the fracking site and are warning travellers to expect delays throughout rush hour.

A 30 year-old man has been arrested after he spent the night on top of a tanker outside the fracking site in Preston New Road, say police.

Traffic problems were reported along Preston New Road this morning during the protest.

The road fully re-opened shortly before 10am.

Police put a contraflow in place on the road at the fracking site and warned travellers to expect delays throughout rush hour.

A spokesman for the police said: "The road has re-opened following the protest.

"We arrested a 30-year-old man this morning on suspicion of wilful obstruction of the highway."

The man remains in custody.
