Blackpool Greenpeace in exhibition at Brew Room to help save our oceans

The group is to hold a meeting and exhibition on Saturday at the Brew Room from 11am to 8pm and show its Ocean Experience: Journey from Pole to Pole exhibition.

Members are aiming to speak to Blackpool MPs Paul Maynard and Scott Benton about a variety of issues relating to a potential Global Ocean Treaty to be considered by the United Nations later this year.

Greenpeace Blackpool and the Fylde organiser Gillian Wood, said: “A strong treaty could pave the way for the creation of a network of sanctuaries, capable of protecting up to 30 per cent of the global oceans, which are currently being over-exploited and risk collapse.”
