Elderly man seriously hurt in Ansdell crash

A man in his 90s suffered serious leg and pelvis injuries after being hit by a car on an Ansdell road.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the crash, which happened on Albany Road at 11am yesterday.

The man was crossing the road on his mobility scooter when he collided with a red Vauxhall Corsa.

He was taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment. His condition is described as serious but stable.

Sergeant Rob Prescott, of Lancashire Constabulary’s road policing unit, said: “We are trying to establish what happened and would ask anyone who was in Albany Road at around 11am and saw the Vauxhall Corsa or mobility scooter to get in touch. Likewise, if you drove along Albany Road between 10:30am and 11:15am and have any dash-cam footage, please in touch.”
