A Fylde coast teenager has been handed a national award recognising her as one of the country’s most diligent science students.
Mica Mullender was presented with the BTEC Science Student of the Year prize at an awards ceremony in London.
The awards showcase the contributions made by students and young people studying BTECs.
Mica, 19, who lives in Fleetwood, is now hoping to pursue a career in dentistry via university, after completing her BTEC qualifications at Blackpool and The Fylde College.
Mica said: “I was surprised but delighted to win this award. I have enjoyed my years at college and have learned new skills.”
