A young artist’s Christmas card design was seen all over the world this yuletide .

Rose Thorley, of Church Road, Lytham’s design won a competition held by the British Council.

The 13-year-old’s winning card was sent out to embassies and consulates all over the world by the Department for International Development after being turned into an electronic card.

Rose, who attends LSA Technology and Performing Arts College, was congratulated for her work.

A spokesman for the British Council said: “The theme for the design was ‘Our World Our Future’.

“Choosing the winners was a very difficult task as all of the entries received were thoughtful, colourful and imaginative.

“Huge congratulations go to Rose Thorley for her beautifully drawn winning entry which reflected on the meaning of Christmas.”

And Rose was not the only LSA pupil to win an accolade for her work in the competition. Ally Hasse, 11, was named runner-up in the contest.
