Youngsters from a Blackpool primary school joined forces with the police to target speeding motorists.
Pupils from St Kentigern’s Primary School on Newton Drive joined officers from the Brunswick ward Neighbourhood Policing Team to monitor drivers on the roads surrounding the school.
Drivers caught speeding were not prosecuted, but instead, were spoken to at the roadside on Friday by the officers and will receive letters at home from the children warning them about the dangers of using excessive speed near to schools.
PC Paul Showell, said; “It is important people of all ages help to make our roads safer.
“It was also a pleasure to conduct the operation with the children and teach them how to keep safe on the roads.”
