The nursery attached to an outstanding rated school, which achieved some of the highest Year Six SATs exam grades in the country, has also been praised for its work.

Hambleton Nursery School, part of Hambleton Primary School on

Arthurs Lane in the village, has been rated good by Ofsted inspectors.

Bosses at the nursery were told: “Staff provide enthusiastic and challenging activities ... children are keen learners and progressing well towards early learning goals”. It was also noted that children “are exceeding in their literacy and mathematical development”.

In order to be rated outstanding, as it was at its last inspection in 2012, it must ensure teaching styles are consistent.
