With extra traffic expected over the bank holiday weekend, Highways England has pledged to clear the route along the A585 between junction three of the M55 and Windy Harbour.

Resurfacing, drainage, lighting and signage works began last month and are due to finish on April 10. Hundreds of miles of roadworks across the UK will be lifted from 6am on Thursday March 29 until 12.01am on Tuesday April 3.

Highways England customer service director Melanie Clarke said: “We’re doing everything we can to make journeys as smooth as possible this Easter.”
