Two Fylde musicians are hoping to get the coast rocking with the launch of their own recording studios.
David Benkel and Jack Lavelle, both 22, have worked with top names such as Shane Ritchie Junior, Rixton, the Nolans and Anthony Costa from Blue.
As a 16-year-old in a band the costs of recording can be extortionate so we wanted to offer packages that could suit everyone right up to top professionals
Now they are putting their music production know how to use with Aztex Studios in St Annes.
The former Highfield and Blackpool Sixth Form students have a control room and two recording rooms at the popular venue near the Island Cinema.
David said: “We have known the owners of the Aztex Venue for a long time and they had asked us to help organise live events there.
“The acoustics were good there and we noticed they had a conference room at the back and thought it would be a good place for our recording studio.
“We have a smaller live room for more intimate, personal sessions, and we also have the large live venue which has its own lovely, unique reverb and is great for larger groups, choirs and bands.
“It looks great aesthetically and we can help with arrangements and even shoot video.
“We have all sorts of clients mainly from the Blackpool area, from 18-year-olds, singers looking to record with backing tracks, bands and well known artists.
“We also have song writing sessions. Over the weekend we had a workshop with Luke Friend who was on X Factor.
“We have a well equipped studio and offer professional engineering, we can record tracks right up to the standard where they just need mastering.”
David and Jack are both working professional musicians as well as qualified studio engineers, with David playing bass and Luke guitar.
He added: “We want to be affordable and no project is too big or too small.
“As a 16-year-old in a band the costs of recording can be extortionate so we wanted to offer packages that could suit everyone right up to top professionals.
“We also offer some video recording too.
“A lot of people want to record for vlogging on YouTube, it’s very popular with younger people, so we can help with that too and its one of the cheaper options for people to record.”
