A man accused of possessing drugs has gone on the run.

Michael Delaney sent a message to Blackpool Magistrates’ Court saying he could not attend his scheduled hearing because he had fled to Ireland as he was being threatened by a man.

Delaney, 32, of Riverview Court, Morecambe, is accused of possessing cannabis, failing to provide a specimen for alcohol testing, and driving at Honda on Blackpool Promenade without a licence or insurance.

A warrant without bail for his arrest was issued by Blackpool magistrates.
