A driver who had been drinking was caught after he failed to move off when the lights turned green and was found to be over the limit.
Carl Gregory, a 33-year-old doorman, of Powell Avenue, Marton, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol.
Pam Smith, prosecuting, said a police officer saw Gregory in a Peugeot stopped at red traffic lights at the junction of Central Drive and Chapel Street on March 12 about midnight.
The prosecutor told magistrates: “The car failed to move off.”
Gregory’s car was stopped at the McDonalds drive-through in Rigby Road. A breath test showed 59 micrograms of alcohol – 35 is the limit. Gregory was disqualified from driving for 12 months and fined £120 with £85 costs plus £20 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool magistrates.
