A driver panicked when he lost control of his car and crashed into a lamp post and wall.
Carl Hamblett left the scene of the accident and drove away.
He parked up and locked his Vauxhall Zafira and left the vehicle, Blackpool Magistrates were told.
Hamblett, 36, of Heathfield Road,Fleetwood admitted three driving offences- failing to stop after the accident, failing to report it and driving without due care.
Pam Smith, prosecuting, said a witness saw the crash in Wingrove Road,Fleetwood, and alerted police.
They found Hamblett’s car about 100 metres from the scene and then traced its owner.
In interview, Hamblett said he had been driving too fast ,braked and then skidded into the post and wall.
He was fined £295 and was ordered to pay £85 costs and £20 victims’ surcharge.
Hamblett, unemployed, told the court: “I want to apologise my driving fell below the standard desired and after I had the accident and I panicked.”
