Nobody was seriously injured, and no other vehicles were involved.

A police spokesman accused the driver of testing positive for cannabis and cocaine and said they had been arrested.

At update later released by the force said access from the roundabout towards Halton Road would be closed until Monday while road repairs are done.

"Please use other routes to travel to Halton Village and Halton Army Training Camp," it told drivers.
