Pub staff and customers raised hundreds of pounds for a children’s charity while enjoying fun in the sun at a family-themed day.

Thornton Lodge pub, on Skippool Road, Little Thornton, hosted a family fun day on Saturday, featuring an animal petting zoo, bouncy castle, face painting and karaoke.

The event was held to raise money for Brian House, in Bispham, and also gave local bands and musicians, including The Shakers, Leoni Jane Kennedy and James Erwin, a platform to perform.

The event raised £472 for the palliative care unit.

Organiser James Greenwood said: “We do a lot of fund-raising for Brian House, a lot of our team know the charity, it’s a really good cause.”
