A DRUG dealer has been jailed after a police raid on his flat found him in possession of £900 worth of heroin.

Robert Moyle was found to have more than eight grammes of the Class A drug on him when officers visited his flat on Promenade Road, Fleetwood.

Preston Crown Court heard how the drugs could have been worth between £200 and £900, depending on how they were sold.

The 37-year-old had earlier pleaded guilty to possessing heroin with intent to supply.

He also admitted the simple possession of 91 anti-depressants, a Class C drug.

Fraser Livesey, prosecuting, said police executed a search warrant at the defendant’s flat one evening last July.

A package containing the 91 anti depressant tablets was found.

The heroin was found when Moyle himself was searched.

Officers discovered he had 8.93 grammes of the deadly drug were found secreted on Moyle’s person.

Police also found two sets of electronic weighing scales which bore traces of more heroin.

In addition, three mobile phones were found in the flat.

Moyle told police he had bought the heroin for £190 and the drugs were for his own use.

Sharon Watson, defending, said it had been a one-off offence by her client.

The drugs were not of the highest purity.

She told the court: “He has had a long-term heroin addiction.

“He has taken steps to address that.

“He has engaged with professional agencies.

“As of January this year, he has been providing clear drug tests.

“He is doing everything he can to address his addiction.

“All of that work will be potentially undone if he were to be sent to prison.”
