Date set for Britain's Got Talent return

Britain's Got Talent has been confirmed as returning to screens this month.

The telly favourite, which filmed two days of auditions at Blackpool Opera House in January, will be back at 8pm on Saturday, April 14.

Plans for the show had been thrown up in the air last month, when co-host Ant McPartlin was charged with drink driving following a collision and his return to rehab.

It is expected that Declan Donnelly will present the show solo, after successfully hosting last weekend's edition of the pair's Saturday Night Takeaway.

Thousands of fans packed into the Opera House for four audition sessions, as celebrity judges Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and David Walliams returned to the resort, with Ant and Dec running the show.
