The Firestarter chart-toppers were last in town in 2010, when they visited the Ballroom as part of their Invaders world tour.

With new album The Day Is My Enemy set for release in March, they’re back on the road and stop off in Blackpool on Saturday, May 9.

The 2010 show was one of the fastest selling dates at the venue in years and marked Prodigy’s first date in town in 15 years.

The act first came to Blackpool in 1991, as unknowns, when they played at Zone in Jenks Bar, to an audience of just 200 people, according to local DJ Barrie Jay who booked them for the gig.

They followed this up in 1994 with a sell-out at The Palace on their breakthrough Jilted Generation tour, and returned a year later with a headline show at the Empress Ballroom with material including eventual chart toppers Firestarter and Breathe as well as their next album, The Fat of the Land.
