A 14-year-old boy and his friend were on Green Drive close to Ballam Road when a man with a “scrunched up” face jumped out from the bushes brandishing a weapon at them at just after 7pm on Tuesday.

The boys cycled off and called police.

Then, at 7.40pm, another walker saw a man wearing a Manchester City top emerge from the bushes in the same area armed with a crowbar. Police are linking both incidents.

He is described as between 5ft 8ins and 5ft 9ins tall, in his late 40s or early 50s, with short dark hair and was wearing tracksuit bottoms.

Call police on 101.
