Cycling hero behind new '˜Bradley's Bar' at site

The 290-capacity Bradley’s Sports Bar, named in honour of the cycling icon, who has endorsed the naming of the bar, will boast 18 screens across four different areas as well as a dedicated TV and video wall and is set to open in June. The bar will be open seven days a week and will serve locally produced food as well as a range of beers and cask ales.

Owner David Haythornthwaite said choosing a name for the bar at Mill Farm, off the A585 in Wesham, was an ‘easy’ decision.

He added: “I’ve always admired Bradley Wiggins and what he’s done for cycling, as well as bringing attention to the north and its sporting achievements.

“I was fortunate enough to be in Paris when he became the first Englishman to win the Tour De France – it was some day

“He’s a great example of where hard work and discipline can get you, in life and sport, and I’m looking forward to welcoming sports fans to Bradley’s in honour of Wiggo and to watch him compete at future events.”

As well as a new 6,000 capacity stadium for AFC Fylde, Mill Farm features five and seven-a-side pitches, a full size hockey pitch together with a 3G football pitch, petrol station and various restaurants and bars.
