Crowds sway to a True 80s sound

Neon leg warmers, permed hair and lots of spandex took Lytham right back to the 80s.

A host of legendary stars got the first evening of Lytham Proms 2013 off to a fabulous start.

The festival spirit was in full flow as thousands of music lovers relived their youth, with Altered Images performing first.

Odyssey got the crowd going before Sonia sparkled on to the stage. But it was 80s classic Temptation from Heaven 17 which everyone was really waiting for - the crowds jumping higher and higher as they waved their hands in the air.

The dance moves came out in force when Marc Almond came bursting on to the stage with a polished performance, working the crowd so they were lapping up his every word. And being in such fine voice, he made Tainted Love one of the big hits of the night.

It was a dream come true for many ladies when heart throb Jason Donovan gave an energetic six-song set.

Any Dream Will Do - from his Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat days - got everyone swaying along and in the absence of his old Neighbours friend Kylie, the audience helped him out with crowd pleaser Especially For You.

But there was no preparing for the ear-piercing screams for Tony Hadley, who gave the performance of the night with True.
