A hotel receptionist seen wearing a traffic cone on her head was arrested after swearing at an officer.

Charlotte Rogers refused to walk away and leave the area.

Rogers, 21, of Gorse Road, Blackpool, pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening manner.

Pam Smith, prosecuting, said police were told people were throwing items from a bridge and went to the Richards Street coach park and saw a group, including Rogers, messing about with traffic cones.

Malcolm Cartwright, defending, said his client was not part of a group seen throwing items from the bridge. She had gone to the coach park to meet her sister.

Mr Cartwright added: “Sometimes people do silly things and she was wearing a cone on her head.”
