Woman stabbed in daylight street robbery

A woman suffered stab wounds to the stomach when she was robbed in a Bispham street.

The incident happened at around 8.50am today in an alley between Edenvale Avenue and Hesketh Avenue.

The 41-year-old victim suffered two small wounds to her stomach.

Police are unable to identify the weapon used and the attacker made off from the scene.

The victim was treated by paramedics for two small puncture wounds and taken to Royal Preston Hospital. Her injuries are not life-threatening.

The attacker is described as white and was wearing a hoodie and possibly a hat.

Det Sgt Steve Harry, of Blackpool Police, said: “We are appealing for information following a robbery in Blackpool.

“We would be particularly keen to speak to anyone who saw the incident or the male described.

“If you noticed anyone acting suspiciously in the Warbreck Drive, Hesketh Avenue or Edenvale Avenue areas, please contact police.”
