A woman returned to crime one week after being released from prison.

Nicola Lord said she went shoplifting because she had no money to pay for basic supplies.

Lord, 37, of Station Road, South Shore, pleaded guilty to theft.

She was bailed for pre-sentence reports and will be sentenced at a later date by Blackpool magistrates.

Nicola Corney, prosecuting, said Lord was seen on CCTV at Marks & Spencers putting two jumpers valued at £77 in a bag on September 14.

Suzanne Mugford, defending, said when Lord was released from prison on September 6 she had no assistance and no appointment had been set-up for her to sort out benefit payments.
