The woman then ran off and the offender walked off towards Bispham.

Police are now appealing for any information that may help them to identify the offender.

Det Insp Jamie Lillystone, of Blackpool Police, said: "This must have been an extremely distressing incident for the woman involved and I would appeal for anyone who saw anything or was in the area at the time to come forward.

"I appreciate this incident may well cause some concern and I would reassure people that we have a team of detectives investigating and we are doing all we can to identify the offender."
