Woman found dead in suspected murder in South Shore is named

A woman whose body was found in a South Shore bungalow has been named locally as Mandy Love.

Miss Love, aged in her 50s, was found unresponsive in the doorway of her Clayton Crescent home at on Wednesday night, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 61-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of her murder.

A neighbour said she saw Miss Love, who had only recently moved in to the bungalow, talking on the phone outside her front door on Wednesday evening shortly before her body was found. She said: "She was on the phone outside. She went back in the house, and the next thing we knew she was dead.

"Police and CSI have been in and out, taking photos. Police have been going round asking for CCTV."

A police spokesman said: "We were called to Clayton Crescent, Blackpool, at 10.16pm on Wednesday, May 5, after a report of a concern for safety. Officers attended and found a woman in her 50s unresponsive. She was sadly pronounced dead at the scene."

A post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death will take place in due course, they said.
