A woman got her wish when she asked police to arrest her.

Lisa Butler, 28, of Yates Street, North Shore, pleaded guilty to breach of the peace and was bound over in the sum of £100 for 12 months by District Judge Jeff Brailsford, sitting at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court.

Martine Connah, prosecuting, said the defendant phoned police claiming she was having difficulties with her partner on December 14 at 4.10pm. Police arrived at Butler’s address, and when she opened the door she was so unsteady on her feet an officer had to stop her falling over.

Officers could not find out what had been going on. Butler then shouted “arrest me” and started kicking the front door.

Butler, who is unemployed, told the judge: “I just got drunk. I’m sorry.”
