A visitor accused of punching a man in a bar at Blackpool breaking his jawbone and causing four front teeth to have to be removed has made his first appearance at court.

Jason Shrimpton, 33, of Leicester Gardens Avenue, Chesterfield, Derbyshire, is charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm on a father and assaulting the complainant’s son.

The offences are alleged to have taken place in Ma Kelly’s bar, Lytham Road, on November 3 last year, magistrates heard.

Martine Connah, prosecuting, asked for the case to be heard at crown court. Defence lawyer Ashley Fisher said his client would plead not guilty to both


Shrimpton was bailed to appear at Preston Crown Court on August 10 by Blackpool magistrates.
