VIDEO: Stinger used to halt chase

Police used a Stinger to bring a disqualified driver's night on the road to an end.

Officers pursued the Nissan Micra which was spotted on Mains Lane in the early hours of Thursday.

The chase came to and end at Skippool when an officer deployed a stinger to puncture the tyres of the car.

The moment the stinger was deployed was caught on video by the chasing car.

The pursuit came to a halt around 200 yards beyond the Skippool filling station, close to the River Wyre pub.

Police said the driver had been taken into custody following the chase.
