UPDATE: Two arrested after Thornton man dies in horror crash on Garstang Road

A motorcyclist from Thornton has died from injuries he suffered in a horror crash, police confirmed this morning.

The man was taken to Royal Preston Hospital after his Honda NC750 bike collided with a Land Rover Defender towing a trailer, and a Isuzu Grafter, on Garstang Road, close to the Windy Harbour traffic lights, shortly before 6pm yesterday.

A spokeswoman for Lancashire Police said the man, in his 30s, died in hospital 'as a result of his injuries'.

A 37-year-old man from Preston and a 45-year-old man from Blackpool were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Sgt Marc Glass, of Lancashire Police, said: “An investigation is underway following a fatal collision in Larbreck.

“A man has died and our thoughts are with the rider and his family at this extremely difficult time.

“The man’s family are being supported by trained officers.

“We are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision and has not yet spoken with police to come forward.”
