Two people charged and named after man stabbed in neck in Blackpool house

A man and a woman have been charged following a stabbing in Blackpool which resulted in the victim being rushed to hospital.

Police rushed to Egerton Road following reports a man had been stabbed at around 7pm on Monday (August 31).

The victim, a 36-year-old man, had suffered stab wounds to his neck and body and was taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment.

Officers have now confirmed Joshua Kenny, 27, and Susan Cleaver, 36, both of Knowle Avenue, Blackpool, have been charged with Section 18 wounding with intent and robbery.

Kenny is also charged with possession of a knife in a public place.

They were both due to appear at Blackpool Magistrates' Court today (September 2).

Det Insp Abi Finch-Hall, of Blackpool Police, said: "While we have now charged two people we would urge anyone who can assist with our investigation to come forward.

"This incident happened in a residential area of Blackpool at a time when there were residents and children enjoying their evening.

"I would like to thank members of the public who assisted the victim. I also want to appeal to members of the community who may have seen what happened, were in the area at the time or may have any information they could share with us, however trivial, to come forward."

A 55-year-old woman from Blackpool was also arrested on suspicion of assault following the incident, but she has since been bailed to September 28.

Police also confirmed a 20-year-old woman who had been arrested in connection with the attack has been released under investigation.
